The founder of the organization, Zafar Alam, was born on 27 October 1975 in the poor familyof the slum of Firozabad city (which was infamous in the name of Crime, this area was mostly children used to do childlabout). His father was Mr. Mohammed Salim who was Tailor andmother was Mrs. Amina Begum was a homemaker. The family was struggling with financial constraints, due to poverty, Zafar Alam could not get education in good school, his father didnt had the enough money to educate him properly which led to Zafar’s glass Balashram he also worked in the industry and somehow after completing 10th, Zafar Alam taught tuition to children and completed his further studies. Father was very fond of providing education and teaching other children, many times it seemed that now further education will not be completed. Zafar completed his education at 21 year of age from Urdu, Sociology and History, despite his father marrying him at the age of 21, along with his education, he Operated the school. Zafar was fond of serving poor, troubled people since childhood. At the time of his 12th year i. School , Zafar got involved in student politics and got many recognition in the right of students. At the same time, the spirit of serving to the society forced him to create a social organization “chiragh“, he worked with UNICEF and various organizations and gave a lot of support to the government in making government schemes successful, Zafar Alam stood with public in times of grief, pain and he always used to say I am not afraid of hitting big mafias too. Zafar was the youngest of three elder sisters and the eldest of one sister and three brothers, but he completely followed the directions of his father, Zafar confronted the criminals committing various kinds of crimes in the slums and stood with the poor helpless people. time to time, the eyes of the mafia remained gritty. This is the reason why the founder of the institution is called as the sympathizer of the poor, it is their habit to stand in the interest of the public even at midnight.
संस्था के संस्थापक जफर आलम का जन्म 27 अक्टूबर 1975 को जनपद फिरोजाबाद शहर की मलिन बस्ती (जो क्राइम के नाम पर बदनाम थी), के गरीब परिवार में हुआ, इनके पिता श्री मौ0 सलीम जो टेलर थे तथा माता श्रीमती अमीना बेगम गृहणी हैं। परिवार आर्थिक तंगी से जूझ रहा था, गरीबी के कारण जफर आलम अच्छे विद्यालय में शिक्षा प्राप्त नहीं कर सके, कक्षा 8वीं तक की शिक्षा पिता ने पूरी करायी आगे की शिक्षा पूरी कराने में धन की कमी सामने आयी, किसी तरह 10वी की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद जफर आलम ने बच्चों को टयूशन पढ़ाया तथा और आगे की पढ़ाई पूरी की। पिता को शिक्षा दिलाने एवं दूसरे बच्चों को शिक्षा देने का काफी शौक था, कई बार ऐसा लगा कि अब आगे की शिक्षा पूरी नहीं की जा सकेगी। जफर ने शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के साथ-साथ मेहनत मजदूरी की। 21 वर्ष की आयु पूर्ण होने पर पिता ने शादी कर दी, इसके बावजूद भी जफर ने Urdu, Sociology and History से M.A की शिक्षा पूर्ण की। विद्यालय संचालित किया जफर को बचपन से गरीब, परेशान लोगों की सेवा करने का बहुत शौक था। इण्टर की पढ़ाई के समय ही जफर छात्र राजनीति से जुड़े तथा छात्रों के हक में कई आंदोलन किये यहाॅ से जफर को पहचान मिली। इसी दौरान समाज की खिदमत करने का जज्बे ने उन्हें सामाजिक संगठन चिराग बनाने पर मजबूर कर दिया, इन्होंने विभिन्न संगठनों एव सरकारी योजनाओं को सफल बनाने में काफी योगदान दिया है। जफर आलम ‘जनता के दुख दर्द में हमेशा साथ खड़े रहे, तथा बडे़ बडे़ माफियाओं से भी टकराने में डरे नहीं। जफर तीन बड़ी बहनों सबसे छोटे थे और अपने पिता के दिश निर्देशों को सदा फाॅलो करते रहे। मलिन बस्तिियों में तरह-तरह के अपराधों का सामना करना, गरीब लाचार जनता के साथ कांधे से कांधा मिला कर खड़े रहना। समय समय पर माफियाओं की आँखों की किरकिरी बने रहे। यही कारण है कि लोग संस्था संस्थापक को गरीबों का हमदर्द कह कर पुकारते हैं। आधी रात जनता के हित में खड़े रहना इनकी आदत है।
